A request can be worthwhile and still be the wrong use of this week. Compare it with the best realistic alternative for the same time or resources. Include doing nothing for now. This makes the trade-off visible: you are choosing between uses of a limited resource, rather than deciding whether one isolated idea sounds good.
What are you giving up by saying yes?
The price of a choice includes the alternative you leave behind.
A small example
A founder can spend Friday polishing a pitch deck or calling three customers who stopped buying. Both are useful. The question is which uncertainty most needs an answer before Monday.
Keep in mind
Do not turn every small pleasure into a productivity calculation. This tool is for choices where the trade-off matters.
